A prominent, new hospitality establishment emerged in the traditional holiday destination, the Black Forest. An Art-Nouveau mansion, formerly a home for the blind, has been reinvented into a luxurious wellness hotel. Additionally, a new contemporary construction, which is intended to serve as a town landmark, acts to round out the existing town ensemble. While the mansion accomodates suites and the restaurant, the new building houses the guest rooms, the wellness area and the medical clinic. The significant challenges of this project were the connection to the mountain railway and the exposed hillside situation, which made a bridge between the separate wings of the building necessary.
