At the Stiftsweingut Heiligenkreuz - Freigut Thallern in Niederösterreich, a new world of enjoyment and culture was created through the collaboration between the Styrian winemaker Erich Polz and the architect Oliver Massabni.

Step by step, the 868-year-old winery was renovated and made accessible to visitors, who can now enjoy wines from more than 30 wineries as well as culinary specialties from Lower Austria.

In 2008 work began on revitalizing the entire Thallern estate. The numerous unused areas were converted into event and conference rooms as well as exhibition areas. The Freilut Thallern now also houses a new regional vinotheque, a monastery inn, wine academy and a hotel.
